Lucknow: Doing well in the fight against COVID-19, Uttar Pradesh crossed the landmark of administering more than eight crore first dose of Covid vaccination on Thursday. The most populous state of the country has so far given the ‘Jab of Life’ to more than 9.77 crore people and in the last 24 hours over 7.56 lakh people have been inoculated, UP Govt official said. The state also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the Covid vaccine to nearly 54 percent of the eligible adult population while over 1.76 crore people in the state have been fully vaccinated.
Active caseload in the state now stands at 186, having been brought down by almost 99 per cent from its peak capped at 3.10 lakh cases on April 30. Uttar Pradesh has restricted the daily-case count below 50 for 44 consecutive days now and there are 30 districts have eradicated the coronavirus as their fresh and active COVID-19 cases remain zero. Districts namely; Amroha, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Baghpat, Ballia, Banda, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj, Mahoba, Mau, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Sitapur and Sultanpur.
It’s clear now, the horror coronavirus has been arrested in UP, out of 2.20 lakh samples tested, only 11 have tested positive in the state while in the corresponding period, 20 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection. Out of 75 district of the state only six districts have reported new cases in the last 24 hours, official added. To boost Jab-drive, a mega vaccination camp will be held in Lucknow on September 27, District Magistrate Lucknow held a meeting; we have doubled their target for this vaccination camp because they want maximum number of people jabbed.
In terms of the arrangements being made for the drive, DM Lucknow said all the CHOs have to work along with the data operators and all the staff nurses administering the vaccine jabs have to help in the entry of beneficiaries on the CoWin portal. In order to make the drive a success, all the block development officers would monitor the data operators in their areas so that their work finishes in time. The training of all the data operators should be completed by September 25, DM added.
